Welbeck Beat Deutsche Bank in Rugby City Charity Challenge
07 December 2011
Welbeck Group beat Deutsche Bank 82-12 in The Wooden Spoon charity Rugby challenge prior to London Scottish v Bristol Championship match at The Athletic Ground in Richmond
Former international players and current Welbeck clients, Andy Gormasall and Kenny Logan along with former Scotland second row and current Welbeck Financial Adviser Iain Fullarton, all played for a powerful Welbeck XV as they outgunned Deutsche Bank by 12 tries to 2.
Kenny Logan said, “It was a fun day and always a great opportunity for mix business and sport along with raising some funds for Wooden Spoon. Welbeck had some good players but I think Deutsche will be looking at a rematch soon! I hope the City Challenge takes off and more City companies play each other for good causes.
Deutsche and Welbeck Group are sponsors of London Scottish and supported the charity wholeheartedly with over £400 raised for good causes.
Over 150 guests of Welbeck Group enjoyed the day with live music, BBQ, Family entertainment and the charity challenge, as Welbeck sponsored the matchday.
Practice Principal of Welbeck group, Greg Knight enjoyed the day, stating, “It was a thrill to see Andy and Kenny play for us. We are a sporting company and although we were delighted to beat Deutsche it was more important to create a great day for both companies and raise some funds for The Wooden Spoon.”
