WELBECK FALL SHORT IN QUARTER FINAL TO PWC
Welbeck Warriors lost to eventual Plate Winners, Price Water House Coopers in the Neptune City Sevens tournament last Sunday 20th May at The RAA, Richmond.
Welbeck beat Jefferies Investment Bank 52 - 0 in the first game, before narrowly losing out 17-14 to Australian Bank Macquarie in the 2nd pool game.
This took Welbeck through to the Plate Quarter final, where eventual winners of the trophy PWC, outscored Welbeck four tries to two and ran out 21-10 winners,
It was the first year Welbeck took part and despite the chilly conditions they received good support from fellow advisers and clients.
Skipper and Senior Adviser, Toby Walker said of the day, "It was a good tournament though we should have gone further. I was Pleased to see the squad get a run out and make some connections with other City firms. The charity element was key and all the boys were pleased to support this. We want the trophy in 2013 though!"
The day saw Monies raised for the Child Bereavement Charity. Price Waterhouse Coopers won the Plate final and Gamma Derivative Solutions won the overall Trophy.
