Fresh faced leader for JPM Natural Resources Fund

The current fund manager for JP Morgan Asset Management, Mr. Ian Henderson, is stepping down after 20 years.

Mr. Henderson has managed the multi-billion pound fund since the early nineties, yet will step down from management in January.

Colleague Mr. Neil Gregson, who currently runs the JP Morgan Mining fund, has been working alongside Mr. Henderson and will be his successor. He will take over both the JP Morgan Natural Resources and the Global Natural Resources. As of March 2012, Mr. Henderson will relocate to an advisory position for one year, until the end of March 2013.

Mr. Henderson stated...“I have been aware of Neil’s expertise for many years… we share a very similar style of investment and he has already made his mark. He is the natural successor to take these funds forward.” He then went on to add, “the world of natural resources and the investment opportunities within the sector remain as compelling now as ever and I am still very much a believer in the commodities super-cycle“.

Head of UK retail at JP Morgan Asset Management, Mr. Jasper Berens, added... "Ian has chosen Neil as his successor as lead manager on the funds which is testament to Neil’s calibre as a fund manager and we have no doubt that under his leadership, the funds will continue to go from strength to strength.”
